Kennewick General Hospital's Community Education Department offers students and patients the opportunity to learn how to manage their own physical and mental health, as well as learning the life-saving skills of CPR. The Department offers classes ranging in length from one day to eight weeks, depending on which program you choose. Pre-registration is required for all classes. Click Here for the Events Calendar Community Training Center Kennewick General Hospital serves as an American Heart Association Community Training Center of the Pacific Northwest Territory. The KGH Training Center supports the delivery of Emergency Cardiovascular Care programs for both healthcare professionals and the layperson in the community. Courses offered are Basic Life Support, Automated External Defibrillation (AED), Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advance Life Support, and community education to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke. Heartsaver CPR for the Layperson This course is offered to those individuals requiring a credential (a card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course that provides instruction on Adult, Child, and Infant CPR as well as training in the use of Adult and Child AED. Evenings 6:00pm - 9:00pm Course Cost $35.00  June 16, 2010July 7, 2010August 18, 2010September 15, 2010October 13, 2010November 17, 2010Heartsaver First Aid 4:00pm - 7:00pm (unless otherwise noted) First Aid only - Course Fee:$40.00 July 14, 2010August 4, 2010September 8, 2010October 6, 2010November 10, 2010Heartsaver Infant and Child CPR This course is a non-credentialed CPR course offered to those individuals requiring a CPR class specifically for children. Typically these individuals would be new parents and grandparents. Evenings 6:00pm - 8:00pm Course Fee: Free to participant's enrolled in KGH Childbirth Preparation Classes. $15.00 for all others. June 16, 2010July 7, 2010August 18, 2010September 15, 2010October 13, 3020November 17, 2010Teen Education - "The Right Direction" This class will assist teens in affecting psitive change in their lives. "The Right Direction" utilizes the "Change Companies" interactive journaling, along with group counseling to provide teens with effective tools to help them cope with challenging situations. Four - 1 1/2 hour classes. Class Fee: $100.00 Please call for more information: 586-5119 Anger Management Designed to help individuals identify the cause of their anger and provide alternative methods with which to handle those situations. Court approved program. Monday and Thursday evenings - 8 sessions 6:00 p.m to 8:00 pm (Unless otherwise stated) Total 16 hour program.
